SHAKTI AND SHIVA : LOST AND FOUND
It is said in an ancient story, that Shiva had his eyes closed for a thousand years until Shakti’s fire woke him up from his serene slumbering place. Together they rose, shadow and light dancing with Mount Olympus.
By this time Shakti had learned her fire bird nature required a calm grounding presence lest she accelerate her cycle of flaming out into the sun and falling to earth as ashes. In all the fireballs, firebombs and firestorms Phoenix had been stirring, She now realized something essential inside of her was missing.
She soon realized how the fire had kept her distracted from a deep sorrow and when she did? Firebird fell into the deep shadows in the forest and couldn’t find her way back out into the light.
At least not until she had travelled the wild overgrown path through the Mother Tree wilderness forest and fell sobbing into the healing embrace of Mother Earth.
At first she was intimidating by the towering trees that seemed to reach as high into the skies as they reached deep into the ground. Their root base was like a network of pathways that lead down into the rich deep soil.
But then something strange and magical happened. The longer she stood still in the presence of the towering majesty of the Mother Trees, the more she felt in her heart a silent kind of awe in place of the wild pacing heart of primal fear. She could feel her shoulders relax and her heart loosened its grip on the tight fetal fist curled inside.
She could almost feel the heartbeat of the earth when she leaned into the expansive wooden trunk as if the tree were the arms of a mother. She let her ear rest on the knarly wood bark and somehow found solace from the wild turbulent sadness now quelled by the scent of the earth the forest and the cool stirring breeze.
Yes, she was certain now. It was the rhythm and the heartbeat of the earth she was feeling deep in her Body and her heart began to whisper along with the sweet lullaby of Her song. And before she knew him, she began to melt into the presence of Shiva.
